Happy Mother’s Day……A celebration to all the multifaceted woman.
When I look at the beauty of this tea kettle and its vintage inspiration. It reminds me of all the colors and facets that a mother portrays and many times becoming. It’s a role given or should I say graced to be IN and walking IN can take a lifetime. There are so many different types of mothers and those who are called to be a mother figure.
When I think of the word figure and my love of fashion. The word Figure has many different INterpretation’s. Let’s start with one of definitions found in the dictionary. Since this is related to fashion. A person’s bodily shape, especially that of a woman and when considered to be attractive.
Let’s take a tea sip on that.……Only God can create a woman and everywoman is not a mother. Or a mother figure. Biologically as a woman you were created to reproduce. Something or someone after your own kind. Since its Mother’s Day we are talking about children. We have so many types of mother’s today. Biological Mom’s -Those who have carried a baby and are graced to PUSH. Surrogate Mom’s fall under this umbrella as well. Usually they are paid to carry a baby for a mom that may have fertility issues. Or they have personal reasons and let’s be clear the financials to carry this to term.
No judgement.….A mother’s story IS her glory. We don’t always need to understand the WHY or the HOW or the Because. Today we are celebrating each woman’s unique journey into motherhood.
Foster , Adoption, Kingship Mom’s -This title has allot to unpack. Overall. I call them God’s secret messengers or angels. They are called or chosen to carry out the plans that the biological mother couldn’t face, thrive or survive. You have kingship Aunties, Sisters,. Because everywoman is not a mother. God always has substitutes that he will raise up to complete the task. His word even promises this. When your mother or father forsake you. I the lord God will pick you up! The picking up means he has other stewards in place. Don’t get me wrong it takes a village. However, he has designated women for this. Let’s talk about the figure again.
One who is shaped and graced for this….what does that shape look like? First and Foremost we have to start with the heart….where love flows. Being a mom means having the heart for this. Now you see why everywoman is not a mother. It’s a heart ministry and it’s a reminder of why another woman’s heart might be more equipped or graced to deal. Everyone doesn’t have the same heart.
Spiritual Mom’s -they are chosen to usually mentor, coach or train in the area of a child’s life spiritually. God Mom’s -can fall under this as well. But. I see them more of a second parent. Where the natural mom made a choice. If anything ever happens to me I entrust YOU to stand in the gap for my child or children. Sometimes you will see siblings and each will have different spiritual mom’s. The key here is again its a heart ministry that many can’t steward. Whereas a foster or adoptive mom usually the city stepped in and chose a mom unexpectedly or in the interim.
Grandma or GLAMOM’s- I call this a double portion of God’s grace, and kindness and mercy. You are entrusted and blessed to see the fruit of your children’s womb and partake in it. Some grandma’s also helped or took on raising the child themselves. Whether part-time or full-time. Sometimes you have to get in where you fit in. I say this is a double portion because whatever or wherever you might have feel you lacked as a parent. Being a grandma gives you a second chance to shape (part of the word figure) Many generations after. Some women are alive to see second generation grandkids. It’s a reminder of how many times a womb can reproduce as well as have influence. I started with love because that the first fruit to birth all other fruits that needed.
Today I celebrate you ALL…..
Remember YOU are FashionED in HIM.
xoxo
Nora
